I'm so honored to have my story published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!
It’s available NOW at your local bookstore or online!
Don't miss out - Makes sure you're the first to know!
(My blog post, The First Winter was a snippet from this story)
The Preservation Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to, “Preserving the extraordinary stories of 'ordinary' people” and I’m honored to be featured.
It’s been a while since I’ve reached out so wanted to give a quick update on 3 exciting things. Be sure to read about each of them below and if you ever have any questions or want to reach out, you can always reply to any of my emails or contact me through my social media platforms - I’d love to hear from you!
If you’re reading my blog and come across a word or text underlined and in blue, did you know you can click on that and it’ll take you to whatever that text indicates? I may link to a Bible passage I reference, a video clip, song or even Amazon if I’m referencing a specific item. These were added a few months ago by request so if there’s anything else you think of that would make the blogs more enjoyable, feel free to let me know and be sure to check out the links in the next post you read!
I’m excited to announce that last month, I was invited to become a member of Bible Gateway’s blogger community! My blog is now listed in their directory and when I tag them, they may publish that post on their social media outlets. Bible Gateway is the site I use when I post a link to any scriptures. It’s a searchable online Bible, a division of Zondervan and a member of HarperCollins Christian Publishing. So it’s kind of a big deal!
Wow - all of this began in Spring and now it’s nearly Fall!
Not long after starting this venture, I mentioned I was finding out that there was SO much I didn’t know … that hasn’t changed. Over the past few months, I’ve just found out there’s even MORE I didn’t know I didn’t know! From building a website, setting up an LLC, learning the ins and outs of what I can and cannot publish and where (and my rights to that material once published), figuring out how QR codes work for my wine coaster business cards and a few other (exciting!) projects behind the scenes that I hope to announce in the coming months.
So, yes, I’m still working on A Hundred Pounds of Chicken, along with two other books as well. Once the first is finished, Mike and I will work together on a cookbook showcasing … you guessed it, chicken - ha! The third book happened by accident. I needed a website for my book proposal to be submitted to publishers … and of course then, I needed something on that website, which is how the blog was born. The blog has really taken off (thanks so much for sharing, forwarding and helping to spread the word!); so much so that I’m now working on a book that will feature pieces similar in style to what I write for the blog, but one for each day of the year.
We couldn’t do this without all of your support, so please keep those prayers coming!
